Our Story

Val Albert Motors has been serving Kapuskasing and its surrounding with all of their automotive needs since 1960. Mr. Herve Parent was the original founder of the company which was originally built to service and sell commercial tractors and heavy-duty equipment. Later in that same year Mr. Parent was approached by Chrysler to see if he would be interested in operating a Chrysler Franchise out of his new shop. The deal was accepted and was operated by the Parent Family for close to 40 years.

In the early 1990's Mr. Gilbert Mondoux had a forestry accident and could not continue operating machinery. He therefore had to find other employment and Mr. Parent gave him a shot as his car salesman. Gilbert worked very hard to please his customers for several years and was responsible for all of the sales from A-Z.

In 1997 Mr. Mondoux was given the opportunity to purchase shares in Val Albert Motors and become the Major Share holder. Mr. Mondoux had a very clear vision as to what he wanted for the future of his company and was able to grow sales by over 10 times in just over 5 years. He has hired numerous staff including his current business partner Mr. Marc Rancourt. Mr. Rancourt was the first official F&I Manager Val Albert Motors has ever hired before partnering up with Mr. Mondoux in the year 2000.

Val Albert Motors now owns close to 50% of the automotive industry in the Kapuskasing area and employs close to 35 full time employees. Val Albert Motors stands strong as an important economic element for its region and remains engraved in this wonderful municipality's history.
